Our Mission

To reach people where they are,
so Christ becomes the center of who they are.

Father

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace.

Son

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

Core Values

There are 7 values that guide the everyday life of Thirst Church.

Pray:
Take TimE To Listen

We desire to be a community in constant communication with God. We want to know His voice, His ways, and His will more and more. Regularly taking time out to fast and pray not just for results but because we desire intimacy with our father. Colossians 4:2, Ephesians 6:18, James 5:16

Diversity:
Love All People

We desire to be a group of different gifts, ethnicities, cultures, ages, genders, thinking, and talents. Never unified in personality but always unified in an abundance of love for one another. Colossians 3:11, Proverbs 14:24, Revelation 7:9, John 13:35

Create Culture:
Create What's Relevant

We desire to remain at the forefront of creativity. Inspiring innovation and creativity that youth mimic and the world inquires. We serve the creator therefore when we are operating out of our identity we naturally become vessels for God to create life change through. Exodus 31:11, Genesis 1, Exodus 25:8

The Mission:
Never Stop Serving

We keep the mission of reaching people where they are so that Christ becomes the center of who they are at the forefront. We want to be a people willing to serve God in any capacity just to be in his presence. Better is one day in the presence of God, better is a doorman in the house of God than anywhere else. Psalm 84:10-11, John 13:3-12, Luke 22:24-27

Ownership:
Own Your Ground

We take full responsibility for where God has placed us and for what he has entrusted to us. Galatians 6:4-10, Colossians 3:23

Sacrificial Generosity:
Give Beyond

We stretch and challenge ourselves to give outside of what we think is our current capacity. We build on the sacrifices of many not the talents of a few. 2 Corinthians 8:2, Acts 20:35, 2 Corinthians 9:13, 2 Kings 4:3-7

Embracing Boundaries:
Work With What We Have

We use our resources to its fullest potential. Expecting God to do miracles with what we have instead of hoping for what we don’t have. Go in the strength you have because God is with us. Judges 6:13-16

Adei

Verneda and Adei are North Carolina natives who are approaching 9 years of marriage. They have four children: Jolie, Mijose, James, and Madeleine. Verneda and Adei surrendered their lives to Christ in 2011. In 2013 they served in their local church as ministry leaders for three years. Once receiving the call to plant a church, they joined a two-year church planting residency with ROCKHARBOR in Charlotte, NC. The residency provided the opportunity for hands-on experience with a new church. Adei completed his Master of Divinity at Regent University where his studies equipped him in starting ministries, creating culture, creating systems and strategies, pastoral care and leadership development.
