To reach people where they are so Christ becomes the center of who they are.
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace.
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

Meet the pastors of Thirst Church and their families.
Verneda and Adei are North Carolina natives that are approaching 8 years of marriage. They have three children: Jolie, Mijose, and James. Verneda and Adei surrendered their lives to Christ in 2011. In 2013 they served in their local church as ministry leaders for three years. Once receiving the call to plant a church, they joined a two-year church planting residency with ROCKHARBOR in Charlotte, NC. The residency provided the opportunity for hands-on experience with a new church. Adei completed his Master of Divinity at Regent University where his studies equipped him in starting ministries, creating culture, creating systems and strategies, pastoral care and leadership development.
Marissa and Jon are from Massachusetts and North Carolina, met and got married in Virginia, and now have come to DC after having lived in Charlotte, NC for three years. Marissa works as a kindergarten teacher and youth small group leader while Jon has served in a variety of roles within different churches as he pursued his Master of Divinity. Marissa and Jon served alongside Verneda and Adei at ROCKHARBOR in Charlotte, NC, where they felt called to come alongside Verneda and Adei’s vision for DC and help plant Thirst Church. Marissa and Jon have hearts for church planting and rejuvenation, youth ministry, Chick-fil-A, and their dog Bear.
